WHAT'S THE

CONCEPT

As the world acknowledges a full year of the COVID-19 pandemic, Art at Watson, an initiative of the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs, sought from Brown and RISD undergraduates creative submissions in any medium, including sound, digital, and traditional art, photographed at high resolution.

Submissions are from the past year and evoke life during the pandemic. We encouraged the creation of images and/or sounds that will serve as messages to the future about what living in the pandemic has meant to each artist.

Submissions were judged on their originality, fidelity to this moment, and prospective significance as thoughtful offerings to the future.
